June Events:   Works by Local Authors

Thursday June 18, 5:00 - 6:30 pm: Local artist, Terry Grady will be present for a meet the artist event. His unique pointillism artwork is on display during June in the bookstore. Terry found himself on a bench in Europe for three days waiting for a friend to arrive. This was the start of his series of abstract pieces that have spanned three decades. Most of his colored ink sketches incorporate unusual themes and figures. Originally from Michigan, he now lives with his family in Portland. Light refreshments will be served

Saturday June 20 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm: Local author, Elisabeth Petry will have a book signing of her new book, "At Home Inside: A Daughter's Tribute to Ann Petry". This is a remembrance of her mother, a reticent writer who attained substantial literary success while raising a family. Elisabeth Petry is a freelance writer with a juris doctor from the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in Middletown, and is the editor of Can Anything Beat White? A Black Family's Letters (University Press of Mississippi). Light refreshments will be served.
